Where is the studio?

2 Brougham St, Leicester, LE1 2BA

The studio is 15 minute walk from Leicester clock tower, or just under 20 minutes from Leicester train station. The door is on a side street, and details on how to access the studio are shared when you sign up to any classes.

What’s the parking situation?

Monday - Saturday after 5pm, and on Sundays all day, there is unlimited parking right outside the studio

Outside of these times I’d advise parking in the St Matthews estate or in the town centre car parks

What shall I wear?

We will use a mix of equipment and materials, and so whilst staining is not expected it can happen. I’d advising wearing clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty, and most importantly wear what you feel comfortable in. I have a few aprons on hand too!

What will I make?

If there is a specific object being made or technique being used I will specify this in the event description, although would always encourage you to bring your own creative flare!

For pottery socials there is a lot creative freedom. If you’re looking to make something specific please feel free to drop me a message with photos and I can help guide you on what equipment and materials are available etc.

Cancellation terms

Pottery social events:
If you are unable to attend a social due to unforeseen circumstances please let me know as soon as possible at contact@claybycharlotte.com

If notice is recieved 3 days or more before the social then I will be able to provide a refund minus a £5 booking fee. I am unable to refund for any cancellations with less than 3 days notice, however I will look to see if anybody on a waitlist can attend, in which case I will refund minus the admin fee.

Workshops with guest instructors: Due to the nature of having guest instructors we will need a minimum number of attendees for this event to be effective and so if the event does not have the necessary bookings before one month of the schedule event then it will be postpone or cancelled (full refunds provided).

If you are unable to attend the workshop then unfortunately after one months notice refunds on this event will not be possible.

When do I get to collect my finished pieces?

This will vary as I aim to use the kiln efficiently.

Your pots will need to fully dry before they are bisque fired, and then will be fired again with glaze. I will always give you timeline in any sessions, and if you have a date you are hoping to receive your wares by please do let me know and I can try my best to work to that where possible.

Is there an age limit?

Pottery socials age 14+ with an adult attending

If you are looking for any classes for children please drop me a message so that we can discuss

Talk to me about food, snacks, drinks..

I have the essentials available; tea, coffee, water.
Some events are BYOB (bring your own booze) and this will be specified in the event description.

For food, please feel free to bring any snacks you’d like to. For workshops over lunchtime, again please feel free to bring food with you, or the city centre are LIDL are both within walking distance.

Is the studio accessible?

The studio is accessible, however unfortunately the toilets are not currently as they are narrow. Please let me know if you have any accessibility needs so that I can ensure this

Any other questions?

I want you to feel at ease coming to your workshop so please do get in touch if you have any other questions
